In Bed With Ulysses details the provocative story of how James Joyce's novel Ulysses, widely considered the greatest work of modern fiction, came into existence. Revisiting the toll it took on its author and his family and the shockwaves it caused around the world, the documentary expertly explores one of the loftiest of literary achievements.

The filmmakers and cast members will be present for discussion after all Ulysses screenings.  Kathleen Chalfant, star of Wit and Angels in America, who reads Molly Bloom's famous soliloquy in In Bed With Ulysses, will appear after the June 9th screening.

On the first Sunday of each month, The Iron Mule Short Comedy series serves up a collection of the funniest short films from around the world, including, animation, web series, and narratives! Celebrate funny and inventive short cinema with hosts Jay Stern and Victor Varnada  along with a rotating collective of filmmakers and film lovers. Every show includes the World Premiere of the latest Wanna Be a Star film, which places one lucky audience member from the month prior's show in a film with a different director each month. The title of this film is yelled out by the fastest talking audience member! After the films, chat with visiting film makers then mingle with them and fellow audience members at the award-winning after party, in Symphony Space's Bar Thalia, featuring $5 drink specials.

About Iron Mule:
The Iron Mule Short Comedy Screening Series was founded in April 2002 in New York. The name The Iron Mule is derived from the 1925 slapstick comedy of the same name by the great silent comedian Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, featuring Buster Keaton as an Indian. The name also encapsulates the kind of movies we love to show: tough, burly, and uncompromising.
